A FORMER teen mum and TikToker has revealed her five rules for dating her daughter, with one causing a bit of controversy.
In a video posted to her TikTok account, mum Kat Clark shares her expectations for anyone dating her daughters, including how long they should expect to wait before being allowed sleepovers.
Kat begins by explaining: “My daughter is on a date right now and a lot of people ask me ‘what are your rules around dating for you children?”
“Number one, good luck,” she jokes, adding “my girls are sassy as hell.”
She then goes on to explain the other rules she has in place, saying: “My daughter and I share a birthday and her last boyfriend used to get me a gift too, so not only are my daughter’s expectations high but so are mine.”
Kat then explains her rules surrounding sleepovers: “No sleepovers, unless you’ve been dating seriously for six months,” adding that she doesn’t intend to meet her daughter’s boyfriends until this point at least.

She continues with the next expectation she has, which is that the boyfriend’s parents, and wider family, better be fun.
“Cause if this relationship goes anywhere, I want my Christmases to be fun” says Kat, “I don’t want to have a Karen telling me what to do.”
Sharing her final rule she says: “Lastly, don’t ever invite my daughter out for dinner and expect her to pay for her meal.”

Kat’s rules sparked something of a debate in the comments of her video, with one TikTok user writing: “I'm a boy mum and I agree with them all except the last one its 2022 both genders can put their hand in their pockets.”
“Keep your daughter [laughing emoji] in this age we splitting the bill” added another.
While a third commented: “She’s got a job, why can’t she pay? Why should she be reliant on someone else to? Isn’t she independent?”

Although others took the view that whoever does the asking out should be the one to pay, so while the fifth rule is fair it would work the other way around if her daughter had done the asking.
And one user wrote: “I think the girl should treat sometimes,” in reference to the idea that the man should always pay.
