I’m a home guru and have the simplest 10-second tip to clean your windows and doors, it costs nothing | The Sun

WINDOW and sliding door tracks are one of the hardest parts of a home to keep clean.

The grooves are a magnet for dust and grime, and because of the uneven shape it’s a nightmare to find the right utensil to remove the dirt.

So one savvy home whizz has come up with an easy method to ensure that the tracks stay sparkling with minimal effort – and the best bit is it costs absolutely nothing.

The clip was posted on the Instagram page @encokkadinlarbilir, which roughly translates to “women know the most”.

In the video, which racked up a whopping 25.4 million views, the cleaning guru began by taking a sponger and placing it on top of the dirty window track.

She then used a black marker to draw a line where each of the track’s groves touched the sponge, before removing it and placing it on the side.

The next step was to use a small, sharp knife to cut a small indent where each of the black liner marks were.

By doing so, as the whizz demonstrates, you can then slot the sponge around the track’s grooves and drag it along to instantly clear the uneven window.

And it clearly worked – at the end of the video, the creator held up the sponge to show all of the nasty gunk which had been removed.

The video racked up a whopping 198k likes from impressed users, who left hundreds of comments raving about the super-simple hack.
