IF you’ve noticed your weekly food shop is getting eye-wateringly pricey, you’re not alone.
Families across the UK are feeling their purse strings tighten and will try anything to keep costs down.
From batch cooking to banning costly snacks, mums of TikTok have tried their best to help us out.
One working mum-of-three thinks she’s got it nailed thanks to a handy discount store on her doorstep, but trolls aren’t quite so convinced by her questionable purchases.
Rach Dory has over 10,000 followers who tune in to watch her daily life unfold.
Among her many reels is a tour of her Company Shop – a supermarket which claims to sell surplus food, drink and household bits at a much cheaper price than regular stores.
Remarkably, it seems Rach can do her weekly shop there for £20 – but there’s a catch.
1.7million people have watched Rach’s video, which she captioned: “Come shopping on a budget.”
It begins in a large car park, as the mum asks: “How far can £20 go?”
Entering the store with a large trolley, Rach taps her membership card and makes a beeline for the Dairylea snackers which are three for 50p.

Next she picks up a blueberry and vanilla yoghurt which according to the price label is completely free.
“I know they are today’s date, but I will try them,” says Rach, grabbing a handful of them.
“And they’re free so if we like them we can buy them again.”
Rach then picks up a pork pie for just 5p and some packs of cooked chicken satay costing 20p for three.
More pork pies – a pack of two – are thrown in the trolley for free.

“They are today’s date but the kids will eat them when I get in,” she predicts.
A pack of eight Actimel yoghurt drinks are chosen for just 19p, a big pack of buttermilk chicken for £2, six eggs for a pound and a massive bag of frozen chips for £2.50.
She also finds Warburton crumpets for 10p and fills her trolley full of burgers, sausages and chicken for the freezer – all at discount prices.
“Not a bad little haul there, that’ll keep our household going,” she smiles.
“People moan about the dates [being so close to their use-by] and yes some of it is, but I will freeze a lot and we will eat most of this within a day.
“I do it all the time and nobody’s died. We’re all good.”
One troll spoke up in the comments and moaned: “It’s not that good, you have to pay for a membership and everything goes off that day.”
But others don’t judge and are so impressed with her bargains, with one pointing out an amazing fact.
