A VET has revealed the five dog breeds to steer clear of if you don't want to find hair everywhere.

Alabama veterinarian Dr Whitney Terrell posted a video where she explained the five worst shedding dog breeds that she sees in the clinic and that some of her grooming friends see, too.

In the clip, which was shared to TikTok, she begins by discussing the Pug.

"So, they are little and have short little hair," she says.

"It accumulates…it gets everywhere!

"They have more hair than you think they do."

The vet tech advises: "Regular washing and brushing can help to get rid of some of this excess hair.

She then goes on to say how Corgis are also renowned for shedding their coats.

"These guys have a thick coat and they shed so much on the regular," she explains.

"Daily brushing is essential for these guys!

"They definitely shed worse in the spring/summer time but regular bathing and regular grooming will definitely help you out!"

Next up on Dr Terrell's list is the Labrador Retriever.

"Our receptionist likes to say they shed twice a year – they both just last for six months," she quips.

"They're pretty bad!

"Again, routine brushing, routine baths – essential!"

The vet tech then moves on to discuss the Husky.

"These guys have such thick, dense coats – especially the undercoat," she explains.

"When they shed that twice a year woah buddy…you better have a broom ready!

"They routinely shed throughout the year, just not quite as much as that really big shedding during the switching of the seasons.

"But I've had Huskies literally fill a room full of their hair.

"They shed really bad.

"Again, routine brushing and baths."

The final breed Dr Whitney Terrell suggests avoiding is the German Shepherd.

"They also can have a really thick undercoat – especially when they're shedding their winter dense coat – that's definitely the worst time and you really need to brush and get that hair out.

"However, these guys just kind of shed all year round."

The video has since gone viral, racking up thousands of views and hundreds of comments – with many taking to the comments section to share their opinions.

"My Golden Retriever wants to contest this list," joked one.

A second quipped: "My selling line to my husband for my 2 Aussies was 'they only shed twice a year' – he never asked how long sheds lasted."

A third penned: "Let's add an Australian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix to this… I sweep a whole dog up every day!"

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Me owning a Husky and a German Shepard.
