A SKINCARE expert has warned how a common habit can wreak havoc on the skin.
Lydia Rose (@Theegeminiglow) said many people are unaware that it’s possible to spot someone who vapes from “a mile away.”
The licensed esthetician explained the damage that vaping can do to skin after a user on TikTok commented that they don’t need the smell to recognize someone who regularly uses e-cigarettes.
“Yes, vape skin,” Lydia responded.
“Especially in younger people you start to see crows feet develop, and a dullness, solemness, almost like a gray tone to the skin.
“Around the mouth, you can start to see discoloration.
“And usually like in the middle part of the mouth where you’ve been inhaling, if anything leaks etc. you can see discoloration, darkness or some kind of pigmentation.”
Lydia added that regular vaping also causes the skin to age quicker.
“Your skin starts sagging a lot earlier,” she continued.
“Also I notice this because I have family in the dental field.

"Your teeth will start to show it probably a lot sooner than your skin will.
“Also forehead lines are created way earlier. Aging is not a problem and I love aging, it’s beautiful.
“But being 18 with a bunch of fine lines is your skin and internally your body screaming for help.
“Also I see acne on the lower part of the face and cheeks.
“Acne on the lower part is usually a lot of internal issues and cheeks are involved in problems with your lungs.”
The licensed esthetician claimed that she has been able to spot clients who vape before even touching their skin for their first session.
“I understand not everyone is going to quit, so moisturize and sunscreen every single d***n day if you are a smoker,” she said.
“Antioxidants, vitamin C, invest in treatments.
“I know you spend a lot of money on vapes, but save a little bit for treatments to save your skin from the consequences that are going to inevitably come to you.”
Commenters were shocked by Lydia’s post with many claiming that it has convinced them to quit the habit.
Ohers asked desperately if the skin damage can be reversed.
“I’ve been vaping for three years and the chin and lower face acne is so real, it never goes away… I’m tryna get outta this,” one wrote.
“That’s where my crows feet came from. Y’all six years of heavy vaping was NOT worth it.
"Quit while you can. It’s hard but worth it,” another said.

A fourth commented: “I’ve noticed when I vape a lot my face gets sunken in and more wrinkly. Can this be reversed if I quit?”
