A DIY enthusiast has gone viral after revealing how she turned a couple of IKEA bargains into a stylish side table.

With inflation set to hit an eye-watering 18.6% by January – highest level in almost half a century, according to experts – finding savvy ways to spend less has never been more important.

Millions of families across the nation are coming up with different money-saving tactics – such as cutting back on showers or eating lower quality food – to make ends meet.

Others, such as Ella, a crafty mum-of-one, stick to DIY projects to replicate stunning interior pieces that would otherwise cost a fortune.

The whizz regularly shares amazing decor and home transformation content to her 55.3k followers on Instagram.

Now Ella, who recently took the internet by storm after revealing a chic shower makeover with black tape, took her fans by surprise with a few IKEA bargains.

The savvy mum, known to her followers as @housenumber6_ on social media, demonstrated how she made a trendy side table using… two bread bins.

Not only can this feature be customised to your liking – using different colours and legs – but the project also costs just £30, a fraction of the cost of a similar product at H&M Home store (£100).

''I saw it, had to try it and I’m obsessed with how it came out!'' Ella wrote in the caption of her video online.

For this DIY makeover, you will need two Ikea’s Magasin bread bins at £15 each, strong wood glue (good options are No More Nails or Gorilla Wood Glue) , table legs (optional) and a paint of choice (optional).

The instructions are just as simple – apply some glue on the bottom of each bin and stick the pair together.

To ensure the two don't separate, Ella then placed some books on top for extra weight.

Once the glue had dried up, the craft fan affixed four legs to the bottom of the table using a generous amount of glue – but make sure the dimensions fit properly before sticking them on the surface.

A set of four hairpin legs will set you back roughly £15 from a hardware shop, or single ‘feet’ (typically shorter and sturdier) can be found for less on retail sites like eBay and Amazon.

Happy with how the new wooden feature looked like, Ella placed it in her living room and added an adorable golden frame on top.

With a whopping 15million views, the stunning transformation has gone viral on the social media giant, leaving people stunned.

One fan commented: ''Genius! Looks great.''

Another penned: ''Easiest hack ever!''

However, the table wasn't a hit for everyone, for example, this person who said: ''It's not really that helpful, it looks very cure [cute] but besides of being a side table it doesn't really have good storage.

''But good trick i guess.''
