A MUM has blamed herself for "ruining Christmas" after she tried to explain to her seven-year-old daughter why a present had been left on the side.
"So I’ve ruined Christmas," Aylin began her TikTok video.
"Well technically, Jeff ruined Christmas, and I tried to fix it and effed up even more and now I’ve ruined Christmas as well."
She explained that she'd bought her twins some sensory balls to put in their stockings, and had left them on the side.
"And Jeff comes to me last night and he’s like, ‘Mmm, I f**ked up. Daisy asked me about those sensory balls and I told her they’re to go in the twins’ stockings’," she continued.
"And in our house, Santa brings the stockings.

"And I was like, maybe it will just wash over her, maybe she won’t think anything of it."
But Daisy then caught her mum "off guard" at 7am in the morning, and said: "'Mummy, Jeff said that those balls are to go in the twins’ stockings but that’s weird isn’t it, because Santa brings the stockings.’
"And I was like, ‘That’s weird isn’t it! Why would he say that? He must have just been confused. Maybe he meant their Christmas Eve boxes'," Aylin tried to explain.
But then Daisy said: "Well, why would he mean that? Because Sprinkles the Elf brings our Christmas Eve boxes."

Realising her blunder, Aylin said that the balls were "just for a present".
"And Daisy sort of walked off like, ‘Right’," she sighed.
"So we, as her parents, have f**king ruined Christmas."
People took to the comments section to give Aylin some suggestions on how to fix the situation, with one writing: "So the way I got round this with someone was we buy the presents and send them to Santa Christmas Eve with the elf to make sure you get what you wanted."
