I’ve worked at Tesco for years & there’s four types of customers – they say the same things & it’s so boring | The Sun

WORKING long hours, supermarket employees have to interact with hundreds of customers every day.

So perhaps, it comes as no surprise that many of them get fed up of hearing the same comments over and over again – and nobody knows this better than Anya Ellis, who works at Tesco.

The 23-year-old university graduate has been working in retail for half a decade and as a checkout employee, Anya has to deal with heaps of shoppers.

And according to her, they can be divided in four groups, which she revealed on TikTok – so which one are you?

The young supermarket worker revealed in a video that a lot of the times, customers would make small talk and chuckle to inform her that they ''only came in for one thing!''.

The annoying – and boring – comments don't stop there, as many shoppers would also try their luck at the tills.

Seeing that the items in their basket don't scan, there will be a few cheeky Tesco shoppers trying to bag the goods without having to pay.

''Not scanning? It must be free,'' they'd chuckle.

Whilst for the most part, the people at the store seem to be friendly and joke around, not everyone comes in the shop in a good mood – and unfortunately, Anya has to deal with them no matter what.

Like most major retailers, Tesco now charges for plastic bags – and some people are not particularly pleased with having to pay extra.

According to the employee, she'd be so impressed with Anya's friendliness, she'd say: ''You look so lovely, I'll come to your till.''

Captioned ''live, laugh tesco,'' the clip has gone viral on social media and the worker has also promised to make it a series.

Viewers, amongst of whom were fellow retail workers, took to comments.

One wrote: ''i’ve worked in retail for a month and already hate hearing these phrases.''
