London Fashion Week — Sesame Street inspires wild outfits from Big Bird to Elmo and Cookie Monster

THIS year’s London Fashion Week drew all the industry’s star names – Beckham, Burberry, Big Bird…

Yes, it seems Sesame Street was the event’s biggest design influence by far this year. Or by fur. Oh, and feathers too. CLEMMIE FIELDSEND picks out the furry best outfits by designer Jimmy Paul and On/Off, which start at £475.

Oscar the Grouch

Singer Paloma Faith’s heavily feathered dress by Numero Ventuno made her look like Oscar material.

That’s dustbin-dwelling Oscar the Grouch.

Cookie Monster

If you think this goggle-eyed get-up really takes the biscuit, that could be because it’s inspired by the Cookie Monster.

Ernie

Ernie's striped and now it seems he’s earned his stripes in the fashion business too, inspiring this multicoloured extra-fur-ganza.

Bert

It's Bert on a shirt, along with pal Ernie, and touchingly the model’s headgear even references Bert’s black monobrow.

Elmo

The ’mo, the merrier – that seems the idea behind this bizarre jacket covered in copies of Elmo.

Though to many it’s more like a vision of ’El.
