Mum creates stunning unicorn feature wall for daughter using easy masking tape trick

WHO says you need to hire a professional decorator to give your child's room a magical makeover?

Instead, one savvy DIY fan has proved how you can make your own stunning feature wall using masking tape – and it couldn't be easier to do.

Posting on the Facebook group DIY on a Budget UK, the devoted mum used a stencil of a unicorn she'd found online for the basis of the design.

She then replicated the outline on the wall using strips of masking tape until she was happy with the shape.

After this, she then began filling in the unicorn with different pastel paint colours.

Once this step was complete, she then went back over the masking tape with glittery silver ribbon to give it a touch of sparkle.

Although this isn't the quickest DIY project, the mum is pleased with how well it's coming along – especially as it's her first time trying it.

And other members of the group were also blown away by her efforts.

One replied: "So beautiful!"

Another gushed: "It's brilliant!"

What's more, this simple DIY trick is so simple that even kids can get involved.

Last month, we spoke to proud mum Amy Smith about her seven-year-old daughter who was making over her own room in lockdown with masking tape.

Plus, this mum made a stunning honeycomb-effect feature wall in her bathroom using masking tape trick and old paint.

For more amazing home transformations, this mum-to-be transformed cluttered box room into ‘dream nursery’ using B&M & IKEA bargains.

And this mum reveals the incredible games room she created for her son for just £16.

Plus DIY fanatic totally transformed her kitchen and bathroom for less than £200 thanks to eBay and bargain paint.
