My parents gave me a pet name – everyone mocks me for it & men flirt non-stop, it's hell | The Sun

A WOMAN has opened up about the torment that she’s faced over the years after her parents decided to call her Angel.

Angel described her moniker as a “menace of a name” as she lifted the lid on what people say to her every day.

In a Reddit rant, Angel recalled men awkwardly trying to flirt with her as they use her name for cheesy chat-up lines.

She wrote: “As a girl with this name it’s hell out here.

“The constant jokes, so many awful flirting attempts…”

Angel went on to say: “Just today a customer asked me if my name really was Angel.

Angel continued: “I tend to be a very friendly person too so people love telling me I “really am an angel” and it just gets tiring.”

She rounded off her post with a warning for other parents as she concluded: “Don’t name your kids stereotypical pet names guys.”
