Poundland is selling a copy of the Tangle Teezer brush … and yes, it’s only £1

While one of the detangling brushes will set you back around £10, Poundland is selling a much more affordable version for, yes you guessed it, £1.

Shoppers have spotted the budget chain’s All Tangled Up brush, which comes in pink or purple.

Many have taken to forums to sing the praises of the purse-friendly steal.

One user said: “Well I have both. Tangle teezer and actually thought I'd buy one of these for the price. I have really really thick long hair to my bum almost and believe it or not the cheaper brush works better.”

Another gushed: “The best bit is this product works.”

Tangle Teezers launched back in 2007, and Dragon’s Den fans may remember they were actually rejected on the investment show.

Entrepreneur Shaun Pulfrey was humiliated by the dragons when he pitched his hair product, but it's fair to say they're knot laughing any more.

The bold inventor behind the detangling brush has grown his business to be worth a cool £200m, making him around five times richer than TV dragon Deborah Meaden, who is worth £40m.

Alongside then-dragons, Theo Paphitis, Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan, she was quick to mock the product, claiming that his hairdressing innovation just didn't make the cut.

But despite the opposition, inventor Shaun has managed to make a success of himself, and he'll be pleased that he never ended up selling off a slice of his business to the notoriously mean TV investors.

Shaun's business was funded by the savings he'd raised whilst working as a hair salon colourist, and he even remortgaged his London flat to help his dream get off the ground.

And in the years following his TV rejection, his business has grown into an international exporter which sells brushes in 60 countries.

Even celebrities such as Nicole Scherzinger have endorsed his product, which Shaun is the sole owner of.
