What Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s hand-holding style reveals about their sex life

From their interlocked fingers to her double-hand grasp, there is one thing that is always consistent –  Harry's hand is always on top. And that indicates he's the dominant one in bed.

Experts have revealed how their distinctive hand-holding style indicates A LOT about their love life between the sheets.

When the pair holds hands, typically Prince Harry will have his hand on top, with his palm facing downwards.

According to a 2013 study, published in Current Psychology, this is an indication the prince is more dominant in the relationship and takes charge over Meghan.

Sociologist Erving Goffman explained: “The insides of the two hands are pressed together, in mutual embrace as it were, but the outside of the male’s hand typically faces the oncoming world, where as the outside of the female’s hand merely follows in the wake of protections.”

And this isn't the only thing we can learn from the royal couple's grasp.

The Duchess of Sussex often holds hands with her husband and then places her other hand on his arm in a double gripped lock.

This "reinforcement" from the other hand, is a sign that the pair has got very close in a short space of time.

While it looks supportive, it isn’t always a positive sign, as it can also indicate a possessive hold on their partner.

Human Behaviour Expert Susan Constantine-Perfido told Elite Daily: “She's saying, 'I captured him, he belongs to me. She is enamoured with him and slightly possessive."

The way your palms come together – if they do at all – can be a real indication of your intensity as a couple.

And as far as the newlyweds are concerned, they couldn’t have a closer grip.

Body language expert Patti Wood said to Cosmopolitan: “When he holds your hand, he presses his palm against yours.

“This kind of full-fledged hand-holding signifies a desire to connect.

“The same goes for interlocking fingers, while an arched palm means he's scared or may be holding something back (literally).”

Couples therapist Terri Orbuch, a professor at Oakland University in Michigan said to Women’s Health: “Most people have a radius of about a foot and a half around us that is our personal space and if you let someone into that it indicates intimacy.”

Prince Harry and Meghan often show a fully united front, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with little space in between – which is great news for their passion in the bedroom.

Terri said that if you walk close enough for your shoulders to brush, this is an indication of happiness and closeness.

She added: “When there’s a big gap between people, even if they’re holding hands, I think of them more as friends.”

So while things are sizzling in the bedroom for Meghan and Prince Harry, what does your hand-holding indicate about your sex life?

The one-finger hold

If you prefer to interlock just one pinkie instead of the whole hand, this can be a sign you value your independence.

It can suggest that the couple respects each other’s personal bubble, but beware that in some cases, it indicates one partner pulling away from a romantic or sexual connection.

Pulling hand to one side

If a couple is holding hands but the palms are dangling more towards one partner, this could be a sign of control.

The one that has pulled the other person’s hand more to their side could be the decision maker, or could be indicating they are keen to add a change to the usual routine of the relationship.

When it comes to the bedroom, they could be looking to try something new.

Palm hold

When a pair locks hands but doesn’t interlock the fingers it could indicate a sign of affection, but lack of sexual passion.

And according to body language expert Vanessa Van Edwards, if you feel like your hand is being "overly squeezed or pushed down" by your partner at the start of your relationship, "that is a very dominant gesture."

She added to Elite Daily: “If someone's squeezing very hard beyond just a reassuring 'I'm here,' that is a signal of 'I want to be in control, I want to be dominant.”
