Kate, Princess of Wales has a wardrobe packed full of designer clothes, and one brand she favours is Alessandra Rich.
The royal has several dresses by the Italian-born, London-based designer, most notably in polka dots, with some designs paying homage to Princess Diana’s iconic outfits.
The dresses tend to have longer sleeves, a calf-length skirt and some sort of ruching or pleating.
But Alessandra also makes racier designs; plenty of her dresses include a thigh split or are lower cut than the options Kate goes for.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Alessandra said: “All my pieces are like this – they cover the arms or the legs but there’s always a split somewhere, or a body chain underneath. It is good to be a bit naughty.”
In terms of the inspiration behind her designs, Alessandra previously told Tatler: “I’m drawn to history’s polite rebels, such as Princess Diana, and I want to embody that spirit in the Alessandra Rich woman.”
She said her favourite Diana outfit was a green patterned Catherine Walker dress the Princess wore in 1986.
Alessandra explained: “It represents the moment Diana was just turning into a style icon. She is conservative and glamorous at the same time.”
The designer created a similar dress to Diana’s green ensemble which Kate owns and wore for the first time during her and Prince William’s tour of Ireland in 2020.

Another dress inspired by Princess Diana is a navy blue polka-dot silk shirt dress with an oversized white collar and cuffs.
The garment is from the designer’s 2018 collection and Kate wore it for the first time for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday portraits.
The Princess’s white mid-length dress with brown polka dot that she wore to Ascot in 2022 is also said to be a modern version of a white and black polka dot dress Princess Diana once wore to Ascot in 1988.
