Rain doesn't stop me from drying my clothes outside – my method's tried, tested and even storm proof, it works a treat | The Sun

A WOMAN has caused controversy after revealing her "tried and tested" method for drying clothes outside, even when it's raining.

The lady, who owns a sustainable small business, took to TikTok to share how she uses a gazebo outside and puts her washing underneath to dry.

"Rain, no problem – can still dry the washing outside," she said in the video.

"This is version 2 – had another one last year which we had for several years and used as an event dome in the summer.

"We just decided to use it in the winter for drying the washing outside.

"You can see it's quite blowy today as well.

Laundry pro's hack gets clothes dry faster indoors AND stops them wrinkling too

"It's going to save on energy, time and money, so that's my washing hack."

She added with six of them in the house, she can't keep drying the clothes on radiators and using the tumble dryer.

"So yeah, this is our solution," she concluded, before showing what the laundry gazebo looks like from the inside.

"Laundry Drying Tent mark 2," she added in the caption.

"Tried Tested method last year too!"

But lots of people in the comments section weren't convinced that the hack would work.

"It will never dry unfortunately," one insisted.

"That's not going to dry…at all," another added.

To which the woman replied: "We used this set up last year all autumn winter.

"It works really well overall.

"It won't dry everything bone dry but reduces need for indoor methods."

"But it's wet underneath! Just buy some airers and dry in the house," a third said.

"Ha no chance," she replied.

"Airers sadly don't cut it for us, even with an ebac humidifier.

"Too much moisture in the house and we don’t want mould."

"Definitely work for light rain days at least," someone else commented.

As another suggested: "You can add sides to stop some of the rain and still allow air flow."

"Yes good idea, we have sides so may pop those on," the woman responded.

"At the moment only floor is wet, not the washing, but it may get worse!"

"Great idea especially for those showery days," someone else praised.

"Saves you constantly checking for rain!"

"Yes definitely!" she replied.

"it's a constant distraction, should we chance it…or should we bring it in!"

"What about the dampness?" someone else asked.
