As a giant in the world of watchmaking, Timex has been manufacturing timepieces since 1854. With 166 years of being one of the most prominent American watchmakers in the history books, the company has decided to celebrate its heritage with the launch of a new American Documents collection.
The collection spans across four watches featuring the same stainless steel case — with one offered in a black tone — carrying dials of four different colors: white, black, gray and navy. With a vintage-inspired look, the dials carry delicately polished dauphine hands working with applied baton indices while the rest of the face taps into classic elements such as a small seconds at 6 o’clock and a date window at 3 o’clock. An engraved caseback also celebrates its connection with the U.S., depicting the silhouette of the nation along with the inscription “MADE IN AMERICA.” While most parts of the collection are indeed made in America, Timex also does point out that it runs on a Swiss-made quartz movement — not so much a detraction but the bringing together the best of the two horological powerhouses.
For those interested, the Timex American Documents line is now available over on the watchmaker’s website for $495 USD each.
Elsewhere in watches, iFixit has dissected the Apple Watch 6.
