IS there such a thing as a healthy snack? Only half of those who snack are hungry – for the rest it’s “cravings” or emotional reasons.
So here’s how to hit the spot snacking, while being a bit virtuous and watching the calories. We also trial lashes in the run-up to the party season.

Not the most appetising on paper but I was pleasantly surprised. Coated with a thin layer of tapioca to create just the right amount of crunch, they come in lightly salted, salt and vinegar and cheese flavour. Gluten-free, vegan. Scrumptious and 99 calories per bag.

I wore the Melly lash – part of the faux mink range – which was gorgeously fluffy and easy to apply. I reused them four times and they are still wearable, so fantastic value. The own-brand glue can be bought separately for £6. I love them.

- Eyelash Emporium Strip Lashes, £8.95 for 1 pair – buy now
I chose the Act Natural lash, one of the range’s more subtle lashes. It gave volume with a lovely, wispy look. I’m halfway through the promised 20 wears and they are still going strong. Ten styles are available and the Double Act strip lash adhesive can be bought for £8.95. I’d definitely recommend.

- Ardell Magnetic Demi Wispies Lash Kit, £17.99 for 1 Kit – buy now
Features lashes a pot of black magnetic eyeliner and a liner brush. Apply liner to your eyelid, and the band on the lashes, sticks to it. Quicker and easier than glue but it’s a shame the liner is thick as it is tricky to get a neat line.
