Someone took to Twitter to share a photo of a pair of pumps, with the left one missing a chunk out of the back.
Seemingly annoyed with repeating the story behind the hole, the owner has stuck a label under it which said ‘my dog chewed it’.
It seems she was not ready to part ways with her shoes just yet, regardless of a little light chewing.
The photo was uploaded with the caption: “This woman was walking around NYC with this label on her shoe and now she's my wife.”
Since being posted online the snap has gone viral, racking up more than 100,000 likes and 30,000 retweets.
Fellow Twitter uers have hailed the woman as something of a hero, and praised her use of a label maker.
One person said: “This is the best use of a label maker in the entire history of label makers.”
Another wrote: “I love that she felt the need to explain the damage.
“I do stuff like that too. But my labels would mostly say "taco grease."
A third wrote: “Good call. That's a great sense of humor right there.”
This person was still a fan of pets, saying: “You get this cool woman and a dog. That’s happily ever going on.”
A convert replied: “A new use for my label maker.”
And this poster thought: “The fact that she had to open a Word document, write the sentence, print it in a label and stick carefully in the proper area.”
Not only that, but fellow dog owners have been sharing their own struggles with their pets vs their belongings.
This woman enquired: “Is she selling these labels? I need them in shoe, hat, furniture and door sizes.”
Another person sympathised: “My whole house needs that label…”
And people suggested new labels, such as: “I need a label that says ‘my cat slept on it’.”
This person’s house sounds pretty chewed, as they said: “BRB, gotta make labels for EVERY damn table leg in my house..”
This person may still be in mourning: “Be thankful just a shoe.
"I lost two couches and two windowsills.”
These unsuspecting people got more than they bargained for with these outfits.
And woman was shocked when her PrettyLittleThing top finally arrived.
Still after shoes? Meghan Markle’s ballet flats are finally back in stock.
