A WOMAN has been left horrified after finding out how swimming nappies actually work.
Flora took to TikTok to share a video explaining her discovery, revealing that her assumption that the nappies kept everything in was completely wrong.
"Maybe I’m an idiot for not already knowing this but babies in pools, they wear special diapers," she said.
"I always thought they were like waterproof diapers, like ain’t nothing getting into this.
"No. They are the exact opposite."
She said that while normal nappies would fill up with the pool water and cause the baby to sink, swimming nappies "do the opposite".

Swimming nappies do not absorb liquids, so that's why they can be used in water.
They do contain solids though – which means it will keep your babies' poo inside the nappy.
"That’s why they over chlorinate the pool," one person commented on Flora's video.
As another added: "side note that smell of chlorine you get at pools and stuff only exists when chlorine is mixed with urine."
"Yeah I didn’t know this until my niece was standing on the deck and peed through her swim diaper," a third wrote.
While someone else commented: "as a swimming teacher i can say this is very true."
"I need you to know adults are peeing in pools too," another added.
As someone else agreed, writing: "Former swimmer and lifeguard here!
"Everyone of all ages is peeing in the pool."
