WHO doesn’t love an optical illusion that takes social media by storm?
Following in the footsteps of another viral sensation – 2015’s white and gold or blue and black dress – there’s another image dividing the internet.
This time, a beauty fan has shared a snap of a recent manicure to Facebook, showing a woman’s nails all painted in the same shade.
She then asked the Facebook group members what colour they thought she had opted for.
Uploading the photo, she wrote: “I'm in another group and someone asked what colour polish this was…
“Me being confused because all I see is basic white polish, [but] looked at the comments and people are saying it's a blue/grey shade?!?”

She added: “Just wanted to see what you guys thought to see if I should schedule an eye appointment first thing tomorrow morning.”
Shortly after it was posted, a heated debate broke out as it emerged that – just like in the other group – nobody could agree.
On the one hand, many say they think that the shade is a light blue, but others claim they can only see white.
One wrote: “Looks like a high quality white.”

While a second agreed: “Turn the brightness all the way up on your phone. It's white.”
However, others pointed out: “To me it looks to be a white polish which was made from a blue or grey base colour.”
While another added another shade into the mix, as they said: “Are we all looking at the same picture? Those nails are definitely painted pink.”
Others likened the scenario to the colour-changing dress which previously attracted attention.
One said: “'Oh no…this scenario….it's returned.”
Another joined the conversation, as they commented: “Maybe a white and gold vs blue and black issue. Though I also see this as a very light grey leaning slightly blue with a soft red/pink shimmer.”
As social media users went back and forth, arguing amongst themselves, internet sleuths took things one step further.
Determined to prove they were right about their colour prediction, they decided to find definitive proof.
They tracked down the original picture, which was taken in a nail salon in Russia.
From that, they deciphered that the nails were painted a very light shade of blue – proving one side or the argument’s point.
