Woman transforms tatty charity shop couch into sofa of her dreams using £10 Amazon product

WE money were no object, we'd constantly be updating our furniture to keep up with the latest home trends.

But the thing about sofas is, they can cost an absolute fortune to replace.

It's for this exact reason that we're interested to hear how one woman managed to transform her tatty old couch into an Instagram-worthy sofa thanks to a bargain Amazon product.

Posting on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the woman explained how she'd picked up a tan leather sofa and armchair for just £150 in a charity shop.

However, the thrifty shopper decided to give it a chic update by dyeing it dark grey.

Before applying the dye, the woman spritzed the sofa with Mrs Hinch's favourite Elbow Grease spray to get rid of any lingering dirt.

The woman then applied the leather dye using a microfibre cloth and touched up the seams with a paintbrush.

In total, she did three coats of the dye to get the full dark grey finish.

Although she used the one litre bottle of leather dye, a 125ml bottle will only set you back £10 and is available in 24 shades.

She added: "One large bottle covered the sofa and the chair, including the backs!"
