Zenith has gone full monochrome for its latest release, creating a striking black and white edition of its futuristic Defy El Primero 21.
Making extensive use of ceramic for both the 44mm case and the bezel sitting atop, the former comes finished in matte black while the latter is painted in sharp white, creating a deep contrast that extends into the fully skeletonized dial itself. A white track runs along the outer rim to bring functionality for the 1/100th of a second chronograph, while hollowed subdials sit cleanly at both 3 and 6 o’clock. Small seconds is located on the 9 o’clock position, with a power reserve meter just under 12 o’clock. The watch is then powered by the 293-component El Primero movement operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour and carrying a power reserve of 50 hours. Completing the watch is a black rubber strap lined with white textile and stitching in the same pristine tone, paired with a titanium double folding clasp with black DLC coating.
Available now over on Zenith’s website, the new Defy El Primero 21 Black & White Edition will set you back $13,600 USD.
