10 Players to Watch at This Year’s Masters Tournament

The Spanish golfer, 26, wasn’t sure he’d be making it to the 2021 Masters, but his newborn son Kepa arrived just in time last Saturday for dad to still play. Rahm, ranked third in the world, is competing for a fifth time at the tournament.

Dustin Johnson

Johnson, 36, is looking for a repeat victory after winning the tournament for the first time last fall. If he nabs the green jacket again, he’ll be the first player to do so since golf icon Tiger Woods accomplished two wins in a row in 2001 and 2002, Sports Illustrated reported.

Bryson DeChambeau

The 27-year-old was sitting at the top of the FedExCup rankings heading into the tournament and most recently was the champion just last month at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He’s making his fifth Masters appearance.

Rory McIlroy

It will be a 13th go at the Masters for McIlroy, who hails from Ireland. The 31-year-old has finished in the top 10 at the tournament six times before, most recently in 2020.

Xander Schauffele

American golfer Schauffele, 27, has four PGA Tour titles to his name heading into the 2021 Masters. He comes from an athletic family — Schauffele’s dad was a champion track and field athlete in his native Germany.

Collin Morikawa

At only 24, Morikawa has only been pro since the summer of 2019. He’s playing in the Masters for the second time but is coming off a strong 2020 during which he won the PGA Championship.

Jordan Spieth

Spieth, 27, just claimed his first PGA Tour win in nearly four years at the 2021 Valero Texas Open. Back in 2015, Spieth was the Masters champion, securing the coveted green jacket.

It’s been a big year for Thomas, 27, who won the 2021 Players Championship in March. This year’s tournament will mark his sixth Masters appearance.

Cantlay, 29, is a three-time PGA Tour winner who missed years on the circuit after a back injury derailed his career and his caddie was killed in a tragic accident. He’s been back in action for several years now and will be playing in his fifth Masters.

The 23-year-old Norwegian golfer made his Masters debut as an amateur player back in 2019. He was just victorious at December’s Mayakoba Golf Classic.
