Aldi launching £6 version of Laura Mercier’s £43 Honey Bath – loved by Molly-Mae Hague

Laura Mercier’s cult favourite Honey Bath Ambre Vanille, usually £43 here, is a feature on many of our Christmas lists. The indulgent, deeply aromatic bath-time treat is so loved, in fact, that it’s sold out pretty much everywhere this month.

The honey-scented bath foamer also happens to be a favourite of designer-loving former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, who often shares snaps of Laura Mercier’s offering taking pride of place on the edge of her bathtub.

If you can’t get your hands on it due to stock shortage, or if you can’t afford to splash out quite so much money on a bath foam, Aldi is coming to the rescue with its own version of it – Lacura Vanilla Honey Golden Bath Nectar, £5.99.

Before you get too excited, you can’t buy it quite yet, but you can add it to your shopping list ready for January when it hits Aldi shelves. As with most of the supermarket’s designer dupes, it won’t last for long so we’d recommend snapping one up as soon as you see it.

So, moving on to the real question, is Lacura’s new launch comparable with Laura Mercier’s sell-out sud? Aldi thinks so. With calming scents of vanilla, honey and indulgent nectar, it promises to leave skin super-soft, super-smooth and smelling delicious. It also comes complete with a wooden honey dipper, like Mercier’s does. Both products feature similar instructions – swirl the liquid onto the wooden honey dipper and let it drip under running bath water to create lightly scented bubbles.

We would point out, however, that there is a reason why the Laura Mercier Honey Bath is so loved; it’s ultra-indulgent, with high-quality essences. So while Aldi’s version will undoubtedly be an excellent addition to any bathroom, we doubt stoic fans of the original formula, like Molly-Mae, will be swayed.

In other Aldi news, the supermarket has announced its Lacura brand is set to stock its very first range of Gua Sha stones – smooth-edged tools used to give facial massages. Available for £3.99 each in a jade or a rose quartz crystal, these pretty stones can help to reduce signs of ageing by increasing blood circulation.

Both the Lacura Vanilla Honey Golden Bath Nectar and Gua Shas will be available to pre-order online from the 23rd Januaryhere, and in stores from the 27th January.
