After its shocking cancellation in 2022, Neighbours is back after being revived by Amazon Prime Freevee.
The long-running Australian soap has seen a number of returning faces as well as some mysterious new ones in the eagerly-anticipated return.
Among the familiar characters on our screens once more is Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), the unlucky-in-love resident of Ramsay Street with a heart of gold.
Throughout the years we have seen Toadie stumble from one relationship to another that almost always ends in heartache.
He’s also walked down the aisle once or twice, with a recent twist in the show seeing him don a gold band on his ring finger once more.
But how many times has Toadie tied the knot over the years? Here’s what you need to know.
How many times has Toadie Rebecchi been married in Neighbours?
Unlucky in love, Toadie has been married four times since the show began.
He first tied the knot in 2003 to Dionne ‘Dee’ Bliss (Madeleine West), but their happiness was short-lived when she disappeared after Toadie lost control of their car leaving the ceremony and crashed.
She returned 16 years later after it was revealed she had been rescued by Riley Parker (Sweeney Young) who had followed the pair and dived into the sea to save her and let her believe Toadie had died.
Though the pair share a kiss, ultimately they decide it is best for Dee to leave and she returns to Byron Bay.
In 2010, he almost married Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner) after falling head over heels for her all the way back in 1999.
But on their wedding day, he realised that she didn’t love him and left her to go travelling.
Sonya Mitchell (Eve Morey) became Toadie’s second wife in 2013 after she became his dog trainer.
They struck up a relationship that weathered the hardest of storms, including the revelation that Sonya was the biological mother of Toadie’s adopted son, Callum Rebecchi (Morgan Barker).
The couple welcomed their own daughter, Nell Rebecchi (Ayisha Salem-Towner), before their family was hit with the devastating news that she had terminal ovarian cancer, eventually leading to her death.
The finale of Neighbours in 2022 saw Toadie getting married for a third time, this time to Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) after a relationship bloomed between him and his personal assistant.
However, after the soap was revived on Amazon Prime Freevee, fans were hit with a major twist.
Set two years in the future, fans now learned that Toadie had got married for a fourth time.
By the end of the first half of Monday’s (September 18) episode, it became clear that the bride was Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) – with the show’s clever dialogue subsequently leading fans to believe that the groom was none other than Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
This outcome would’ve made perfect sense given that Terese and Paul reunited in last year’s finale episode on Channel 5.
But in typical Neighbours fashion, a shock twist was on the horizon, with the closing moments of the outing in question confirming that the groom was actually Toadie.
However, will the couple last? Fans have doubts after Terese discovered an invitation to her and Paul’s wedding in a chest of drawers, and Paul appeared saddened at her recent nuptials showing he may still have feelings for her.
