An American tourist left Brits divided after he tried the traditional Yorkshire pudding for the first time – and was confused about how he should be eating it.
Emily Simpson, from Hull, filmed her US friend trying the local delicacy for her popular social media series where he rates British food. But in her latest clip, which has gained more than 33,000 likes, the bloke seemed a bit confused about how it was meant to be eaten.
He looked unsure as he picked up the Yorkshire pudding and took a bite. And his initial reaction wasn't positive until Emily suggested adding gravy.

After dipping it into some gravy, he admitted it was "pretty nice" and gave it a 7.5 out of 10 rating. Emily was surprised at the lukewarm score given the popularity of Yorkshire puddings, Hull Live reports.
Other Brits even took to the comments on TikTok, shocked by the rating too. One person saying: "Yorkshire puddings are definitely a 10. Got to fill them with gravy though." Another said: "7.5… I'm hurt, definitely a 10/10."
Meanwhile, Americans found British food odd, unsure if a Yorkshire pudding was bread, pastry, or a biscuit. Some even thought it looked "dry" and felt that a 7.5 score was too generous.
One viewer asked: "I'm consistently so confused by Yorkshire pudding. Is it just bread? Like a dinner roll?"
Another commented" "I'm starting to think that they use gravy to flavour foods" – suggesting our food is bland.

"So its like a crispy croissant in a cup shape?" queried another. In Emily's other videos, she shares her experience studying at the University of Hull and spending a year abroad in Los Angeles where she made lots of new friends.
She has so far filmed her American pal trying everything from Greggs to Discos crisps. He rated Greggs a fab 8/10 – but sadly seemed offended by Salt and Vinegar Discos as they were given a -4/10.
