American actress. She starred as Alex Dunphy in the ABC comedy series Modern Family, for which she and her co-stars won four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Ariel Winter has become the latest celeb to depart the bustling Hollywood scene for more off-the-grid surroundings. This past spring, around the same time the longtime “Modern Family” star sold her modern farmhouse-style Los Angeles digs after less than two years of ownership, the SAG award-winning actress picked up a nearly new home sited in an unincorporated suburban area of Tennessee, about 34 miles southeast of Nashville.

“Part of the reason I always hated L.A. is because I have been followed by paparazzi for a very long portion of my life. And I really, really dislike having my space invaded,” she said earlier this year during the “Quitters” podcast cohosted by her onscreen mom Julie Bowen. “I don’t like pictures of me when I haven’t signed up for pictures of me. I don’t like feeling watched. I’ve always just wanted to live a very, very normal life, just have a normal existence.”

Toward that end, records show the 24-year-old Virginia native — best known for portraying Alex Dunphy on the popular ABC sitcom for 11 seasons — and her boyfriend, fellow actor Luke Benward, paid $2.9 million for the traditional-style property, which was built in 2020 by Luna Custom homes and originally listed for $2.85 million.

As for the couple’s newly acquired abode, the gray and white structure is tucked away on an almost half-acre parcel, amid a secluded cul-de-sac that shares space with six other homes, and is fronted by an attached three-car garage flanked by a spacious driveway with room for extra cars. Inside, four bedrooms and five baths are spread across a little more than 5,200 square feet of two-level living space accented throughout with white oak floors, high ceilings, steel-framed windows and doors, and designer light fixtures, per Dirt.

Especially standing out on the main level is an open-concept great room area displaying a living room sporting a brick fireplace with built-in shelving on one side and a wet bar on the other, and an adjacent dining room with glass sliders spilling out to a screen porch warmed by a fireplace. There’s also a quartz-clad kitchen outfitted with stainless appliances and an eat-in island, plus a butler’s pantry/coffee bar and walk-in pantry

The lower level also hosts a pair of ensuite bedrooms, including a master retreat decked out with a private porch, walk-in closet, and luxe bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and large glass-encased shower. Two additional guest bedrooms with baths can be found upstairs, along with a big den/bonus room; and elsewhere is a bookshelf-lined office that opens to a patio.
