A young boy was overwhelmed with joy when he was gifted an adorable puppy – after thinking that he was severely allergic to all dogs.
UK-based Lynsey Chapman shared the heartfelt clip, in which her son, seemingly just back from school, meets his new pet poodle – a hypoallergenic breed.
In a TikTok – which has now racked up more than 3.3 million views – the 11-year-old burst into tears, going to hug his parents to say ‘thank you so much’ as he cradled his new furry friend and told her he loved her.
Autumn the puppy, an adorable brown-haired poodle, is already fast friends with the young boy and the pair are rarely apart.

‘My son and I are severely allergic to dogs,’ Lynsey wrote in the viral video, set to emotional music. ‘He hasn’t asked for anything except a puppy for his birthday and for Christmas for years.’
She then explained that after realising he isn’t allergic to poodles – they could finally surprise him with the perfect present.
The mother-of-four took a blanket off her lap, to reveal a tiny huddling pup – prompting her overwhelmed son to step away for a moment as he became emotional with joy.
‘His reaction was so beautiful,’ she added. ‘My heart is so full.’
A separate clip which featured the clip’s original audio showed the moving exchange with no background melody as both the young boy and his mother cried tears of happiness to welcome its newest family member.

Social media was moved by the young boy’s sweet and grateful reaction in the viral TikTok video
Many rushed to the comments to praise Lynsey’s ‘sincere’ and polite son.
‘That’s the most amazing reaction ever, you’ve raised such a great kid,’ one user wrote.
‘What an absolutely beautifully genuine and polite son you have raised. You must be so proud of him,’ another added.
A third penned: ‘I love how he said thank you to mum and dad before going to see the pup.’
Another poster commented: ‘What an absolute Angel. You’ve raised a king there, his gratitude and emotion is everything.’
A later clip showed Autumn happily huddled up to her new pal as he studiously goes about his schoolwork, not letting go of her to type on the laptop

‘He even does his homework while cuddling her,’ Lynsey wrote.
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), while there is no truly ‘hypoallergenic’ – meaning unlikely to cause a reaction – dog breed, some are less likely to cause symptoms than others.
It added that Poodles – who according to a 2012 study had some of the highest allergen levels in their coat samples – are often associated with being good for those who get the sniffles around dogs because they tend to shed less.

However, the website warned that it depends on what the person may be allergic to, with options including dog hair, skin cells or even saliva.
And it would seem Autumn isn’t the only adorable pet bringing joy this month.
Last week, it was revealed how a border terrier who vanished when she was just a puppy has been reunited with her owner – almost 12 years later.
Liz Eldridge, 51, bought Missie as a birthday present for her son Oscar before the dog disappeared in February 2011.
The NHS worker spent eight years driving all over the country chasing up possible sightings of her beloved pet but gave up hope, thinking she had been stolen.
Out-of-the-blue, Missie was then found by a member of the public earlier this month and was handed in to dog wardens.
Missie has now been reunited with her owner at Ms Eldridge’s home in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
