A naked Brit has sparked fury after posing for racy photos in nothing but her birthday suit – on the steps of a cathedral.

Footage captured by onlookers shows the woman posing just outside the doors to Sant'Andrea cathedral in Amalfi, Italy.

She appears to be wearing nothing but a long red robe to cover her modesty.

Her assistant moves the dress around to get the perfect shot before a cameraman lines up for some pictures.

As the video comes to an end, the camera pans around to show the saucy scenes are in full view of a square with cafes and restaurants.

Local news outlets reported the woman was an influencer who was creating a "personal memory" with the other two.

Police broke up the racy photoshoot before they could finish, according to newspaper Il Mattino.

It claimed they did not have the proper permissions to film.

And, such was the fury at the scene, they were reportedly reprimanded for "obscene acts in a public place".

The footage has gone viral on Facebook where it has sparked outrage among residents.

"Undress[ing] badly in front of a cathedral of considerable importance [is] squalid and unacceptable… shame," one person wrote.

Another commented: "The scandalous thing is not the fact that she is doing a nude photo shoot, but that she has chosen the facade of a church as the location."

And a third was confused how they couple managed to get away with it in the first place when they themselves needed authorisation just to use the stairs for their child's baptism photos.
