Christmas is the perfect time for some guilt-free indulgence – and one eagle-eyed fan has spotted new dessert that would be perfect for parties.
A member of the British Facebook group Snack Reviews, where 260,000 members regularly post reviews about their finds, recently revealed that Iceland is selling the new treat.
The post read: ‘O.M.G! This NEW Galaxy and Maltesers The Ultimate Layered Chocolate Dessert is now available at Iceland.
‘Sounds and looks like an amazing treat to tuck into. Found within the New In section online at Iceland’.
Chocolate lovers were super eager to get their hands on the indulgent dessert which is a collaboration between two Mars brands – Galaxy and Maltesers, but some were put off by its steep £10 price tag.
According to the Iceland website, the sweet treat, which comes in a singular pot is made of layers of sticky toffee sauce, chocolate brownie and caramel sauce.
Ingredients also include malted milk chocolate mousse topped with milk and dark chocolate glaze, white and milk chocolate decorations and milk chocolate coated honeycomb balls.
The 710g treat retails for a whopping £10 on the Iceland website – and is suitable for vegetarians.
One user said: ‘Could demolish this’, which another account agreed with, saying: ‘OMG they look delicious;.
And while one admitted the indulgent treat ‘looks lovely’, she couldn’t ‘justify 10 pounds for a pudding’.
She was not the only one. Another astonished user uttered: ‘Not for £10 no’.
But some weren’t put off by price, keen enough to request the treat for Christmas Day.
One asked their friend/family member: ‘xmas day?’ and another repeated the sentiment: ‘Christmas Day?’
Facebook fans are divided – some like the look of the treat while others insist it’s too dear
Another didn’t necessarily want the treat for December 25 though, but still felt she ‘needed it’.
This comes after a Briton divided opinion online after creating a UK chocolate bar tier list, ranking confectionery from best to worst as he sees it.
Liam Vizeh, who is from England but lives in Poland, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his chocolate opinions – but some people think his rankings are controversial to say the least.
The post, which racked up over 500,000 views, was captioned: ‘Accurate UK Chocolate Tier List.’
The content creator ranked the sweet treats from ‘God tier’ to ‘a bit sh**’ placing Cream Eggs, Snickers, Reese’s, Ferrero Rocher and Terry’s Chocolate Orange at the very top.
