Searches on Pinterest for ‘soft orange aesthetic’ went up by almost 200% over the past year, suggesting our obsession with all things 70s in our wardrobes has made its way to our homes.

Warmer shades were out of favour in the interiors world for a while, but greys and blues have given way to rich terracottas and ochres as the maximalist trend took off.

The soft orange aesthetic represents the same cosiness, but the colour palette leans more towards pastel than the deep, rust hues you may associate with the season.

Inspiration images are many; the glow of the early evening sky as the sun sets, a vase of apricot-coloured tulips basked in golden hour light, a faded sepia photograph on an old table beside a bowl of juicy tangerines.
