Fancy mixing up your dating life next year? According to the experts at Pinterest, 2023 will be the year of unique, experiential dates. 

The world of dating has gone through a lot of changes over the last couple of years. From virtual first dates and walks in the park during the coronavirus pandemic to the recent resurgence of IRL dating events across the UK, single people have certainly embraced creativity when it comes to meeting new people.

And as we head into 2023, dating is set to get another makeover – this time, in the form of experiential outings. That’s according to the trends experts at Pinterest, who predict we’ll see a new approach to dating in the new year focused around unique experiences and activities. 

The trend, which was revealed as part of the 2023 ‘Pinterest Predicts’ report, is based on data that shows searches for unique date ideas have skyrocketed on the platform over the last two years, with searches for ‘date picnic ideas’ increasing by a massive 385%. 

In a similar way, searches for ‘bookshop date’ and ‘creative date night ideas’ have increased by 195% and 120% respectively, while searches for ‘aquarium date’ have gone up by 235%.

While dinner and drinks will always be a safe date option, this new trend highlights the value of mixing up your date activities and shows just how fun and unique dating can be. Want to embrace this trend in 2023? Check out our guide to three unique London date ideas below.
