Chris Bisson has been a big part of Emmerdale since he first joined the soap in 2009, playing the role of Jai Sharma.
Lately, Chris, who hails from Wythenshawe has been at the centre of a huge storyline as his character gets ready to marry his partner, Laurel during Thursday night's hour-long episode, 27 July.
But in true soap style, the day doesn't go as smoothly as planned as his father, Rishi, played by Bhasker Patel is missing from the wedding.
Taking to his own Instagram to share snaps from behind the scenes of the wedding and to talk about the upcoming episode he said there will be "Plenty of Sharma Drama, obvs".
But his life off screen is worlds away from his troubled persona, leading a quieter life with his wife and two children.
Who is Chris Bisson?
Chris was born in 1975 and he is of Trinidadian descent.
The star played the part of Vikram Desai from 1999 until 2002 in Coronation Street, before making the transition to the Yorkshire Dales.
The star left Corrie after he was banished by on-screen cousin Dev, who ended up getting him one way ticket to Mumbai.
Chris previously said he left Corrie amid frustration at his storylines having told Manchester Evening News: "I'd thought about leaving Coronation Street several times before I finally quit.
"That was because I hadn't had a decent storyline for a while. I have been an actor since I was 13 and I'm not particularly worried. I played the same part in Coronation Street for four years."
And it turns out Mumbai was actually Emmerdale, with the star becoming a big part of the soap.
As well as the two big soaps, actor Chris has also starred in Prime Suspect, Hotel Babylon, Doctors, Shameless, Holby City and he has many other small screen credits to his name.
Chris also starred in the movie Four Brothers and a Funeral, and Death of a Socialist, among others.
Is Chris Bisson married?
Yes, Chris has been in a happy relationship with Rowena Finn for more than 15 years – the loved up pair announced their engagement back in 2016.
Recalling the moment he popped the question while in the Lake District for their 10th anniversary, he told OK! "We’d seen an elderly couple walking and holding hands earlier. It was very sweet. I said to Rowena, 'There’s a reason I brought you here. You know that old couple we saw earlier?' 'Well, would you like to grow old like that with me?'"
They share two children together, Harry who was born in 2013 and Ella Rose who they welcomed into the world two years later in 2015.
Taking to Twitter to announce the birth of baby Ella at the time, Chris penned: "Delighted to announce the safe arrival of Ella Rose, our beautiful baby girl."
The soap star is often sharing snippets of family life on social media, including birthday celebrations and trips away.
In June this year, he shared a series of snaps as he celebrated Father's Day with his children who took him to Delamere Forest "to climb the trees."
He also gushed over his wife in May when celebrating her 40th birthday, posting some family photos to mark the occasion.
In the caption he lovingly wrote: "Happy 40th Birthday Row! Flying high, today and forever. We're so lucky to have you."
