An esthetician has revealed she can spot if someone vapes before she even touches their skin because it can cause early signs of ageing and discolouration.
Lydia Rose, who specialises in skincare, said she sees clients as young as 18 presenting with dull, sagging and sallow ‘vape skin’ with fine lines and discolouration.
The specialist said while signs of ageing are no cause for concern, premature wrinkles and lines can be a indicator something more sinister is going on inside the body and lungs from vaping too much.
‘Every single client that vapes, I clocked immediately on the first treatment, first time before I even touch their face, I clocked that they vape,’ she said.
Lydia admitted vaping is a ‘vice’ for many and while she can’t ask people to quit there are ways to take care of your skin if you are not ready to give up an unhealthy habit.

In an online video, Lydia, who’s from Virginia in the US, listed the ways in which a vaping habit can be evident in the skin.
‘Usually with vape skin, especially in younger people, you start to see crow’s feet develop a lot more often. You start to see dullness, a sallowness, almost like a grey tone to the skin,’ she explained.
‘Around the mouth you can start to see discolouration and in the middle part of the mouth where you’ll be inhaling.’
Lydia added pigments around the mouth can become darker from leaking vapes and the skin starts sagging much earlier.
‘Also, I notice this because I have family in the dental field, your teeth will show (you vape) probably a lot sooner than your skin will if you’re young,’ she said.

The esthetician also explained young people who vape develop forehead lines much earlier.
‘Ageing is not a problem, I love ageing, ageing is beautiful but being 18 with a bunch of fine lines, it’s your skin screaming for help and internally your body screaming for help,’ she said.
Lydia has observed acne in regular vapers across the jawline, which can indicate health issues inside the body, as well as the cheeks, which can be a sign of lung problems.
‘I understand not everyone’s going to quit so moisturise, sunscreen every single damn day if you are a smoker,’ she recommended as well as antioxidants, vitamin C and investing in regular treatments.
‘I know you spend a lot of money on vapes. Save a little for treatments, not even personally on me, but to save you skin from unfortunately the consequences that are inevitably going to come to you.

Lydia confessed that she used to be a smoker herself while she still smokes occasionally she has invested in taking care of her skin and has a flawless, glowing complexion as a result.
‘I know you make your own choices but please take care of your largest organ and once again please wear sunscreen,’ she concluded.
Lydia alarming video drew in more than 1.7million watches as viewers were thankful for the helpful information.
‘I think I just got scared straight,’ one follower said and another wrote: ‘This made me throw mine away’.
‘Honestly this is the first time I’ve actually considered dropping it because my skin has actually never been this bad,’ one woman replied.
‘Yup. Please don’t start. I definitely have crow’s feet starting at 22. It’s so much harder to quit then you think!’ someone else added.
