Body language expert Judi James spoke to Express.co.uk about the times Princess Kate and Meghan Markle were seen out in public together.
During her time as a working royal, Meghan attended some official engagements with Kate, including two Wimbledon matches and a Christmas Day church service.
Judi claimed that on those occasions, Princess Kate would use “public acts of unity” to show she and Meghan Markle had a good relationship.
The body language guru commented: “When there were rumours swirling about a fall-out between Kate herself and her sister-in-law Meghan, it was Kate performing the public acts of unity.”
The Princess of Wales would use her body language “to describe a friendship between them,” Judi claimed.

There were two displays at Wimbledon, one where Kate hosted Meghan alone and sat “laughing and giggling” with her as the cameras recorded every moment.
The second time, Kate sat Meghan between herself and Pippa “to emphasise the impression that Meghan was very firmly one of the family group”.
Judi observed that on Christmas Day, “it was Kate who led the walk to church signalling friendship when she left William’s side to move across to walk with and chat to Meghan”.

The expert suggested: “This was again in front of the cameras, to firmly signal that there was no rift between them.”
Speculation over a potential rift between them started in 2019 when it was reported that Meghan had made Kate cry before her royal wedding to Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex addressed the rumours during the Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021 and claimed that it was actually Kate who made her cry but she later apologised.
Winfrey asked: “Did you feel welcomed by everyone? It seemed like you and Kate at the Wimbledon game where you were going to watch a friend play tennis…
“Was it what it looked like? You are two sisters-in-law out there in the world, getting to know each other. Was she helping you, embracing you into the family, helping you adjust?”
Meghan responded: “My understanding and my experience of the past four years is, it’s nothing like what it looks like. It’s nothing like what it looks like.”
