JustEat is giving away free food for Black Friday from the likes of McDonald’s and Sainsbury’s – here’s how to claim yours

Black Friday is just around the corner, and while many of us will be hunting for fashion and tech bargains, it turns out that food retailers are also taking part in the fun.

Food delivery giant Just Eat has just announced its latest round of savings for hungry diners across the UK, including free hash browns from McDonald’s and Dough Balls from PizzaExpress.

From Friday November 24 to Monday November 27, Brits customers can claim a freebie on selected items from 12,000 participating restaurants and supermarkets on the Just Eat app. 

To claim your free item, all you need to do is live in the UK and meet a minimum spend, which varies across participating restaurants and supermarkets – including the likes of McDonald’s, KFC, PizzaExpress, Caffè Nero, and Sainsbury’s.

The minimum spend varies across restaurants and the freebie is pre-arranged.

If you fancy a free hash brown from McDonald’s, a ginger shot from Joe & The Juice, or a grande latte from Caffè Nero, you’re in luck – and there’s no limit to the amount of orders per day.

Lunchtime treats on offer include a free KFC Regular Popcorn Chicken, six McNuggets from McDonald’s, or Dough Balls from PizzaExpress.

And as part of the Black Friday weekend Just Eat is giving away free food items, as a continuation of its Freebie Friday promotion. 

Freebie Friday is the delivery giant’s biggest ever giveaway yet.

This comes after food deliveries fell in October at Just Eat, as customers returned to restaurants.

The industry boomed during lockdowns but firms including Just Eat have now been adjusting to Brits dining out more.

Rising living costs have also bitten into consumers’ spending this year, with the number of orders in the UK and Ireland dropping 3 per cent.

The value of orders also dropped 7 per cent to £6billion.

But Just Eat upped its profits expectations to around £269million from a previous steer of £239million.

Chief executive Jitse Groen said: ‘Within the UK and Ireland we continue to invest significantly whilst at the same time increasing profitability’.
