Halsey is apologizing to her followers after posting an Instagram photo of her past struggle with an eating disorder.
On Sunday, the singer, 26, posted an Instagram Story of her “lowest point,” a topless mirror selfie in which she looks extremely thin.
“ED [eating disorder] ask for help,” she wrote alongside the photo.
On Monday, she wrote on Twitter, “I am very sorry for posting a photo of myself depicting my struggle with ED without a sufficient trigger warning. I was very nervous to post it and didn’t think properly. I had positive intentions. I would never want to harm someone who shares my struggle.”
She then added, “with that being said im gonna log off now because this has turned into something I am not emotionally equipped to handle for the time being. I hope that’s okay.”
Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, has been open about her having an eating disorder in the past.
In a Rolling Stone interview last year she said, “It’s still happening in my body. I just know when to get in front of it.”
