With the latest series of Love Island now well and truly in full swing, many of us have been left captivated by the drama, romance and explosive personalities that make the show our nightly guilty pleasure.
Whether it’s cheering on the underdog or swooning over dreamy physiques, Love Island has earned itself a special place in our hearts and imaginations as we wonder what life in the villa would be like if we were there.
But while bagging one of the Bombshells may be a little beyond the realm of possibility for most of us, we can recreate the luxurious and enviable interiors of the villa at home as we soak up the best of the summertime sunshine.
Below we’ve picked out some of the best and budget friendly additions you can add to your garden to make it the social hotspot of summer – without breaking the bank.
The fire pit
Gardenline Square Fire Pit, Aldi, £69.99
It wouldn’t be Love Island without a staple fire pit to provide the heart, soul and focal point of any villa inspired garden. While there are many options out there, ranging from a purse friendly £50 up to several thousand, we loved this Aldi fire pit that oozes practical functionality and would look perfect if trying to recreate the island look.
Normally retailing for £89.99, the added bonus of this budget friendly staple is that it’s currently on sale for just £69.99.
The lights
Solar Outdoor 20 LED Festoon Lights, Oliver Bonas, £69.50
When the lights go down, the fun begins in the villa, and what better way to bring a touch of that evening magic to your home than with fairy lights. Throughout the series, you will see multiple strings of outdoor festoon lights, and this pair from Oliver Bonas perfectly capture the romantic mystery of Love Island, while also having the added bonus of being solar powered.
Bean Bag Chair
Bean Bag Bazaar Classic Bean Bag Chair, Amazon, £44.67
No villa-themed setup was going to be complete without some of the show’s iconic beanbags, and this bargain buys from Amazon look almost identical to those featured in the show. Available in 15 colours, the slouchy comfort chairs are perfect for relaxing in after a long day, with the pink ones particularly catching our eye for their similarity to this year’s villa colour theme.
Neon signs
Triple Heart Neon Sign, Custom Neon, £139
One of the statement features of this year’s villa are the neon signs that add a pop of colour and light to the romantic proceedings. Whether it’s a cactus, palm tree, heart or juicy peach, there’s room to have a little fun with personalising your own space.
At Custom Neon, signs come in a variety of designs, with custom additions also available if you fancy a little more creative flair. Ranging in price from £69 to several hundred, we particularly liked this triple heart design reminiscent of the Island’s heart archway.
Cushions Galore
Plain Outdoor Cushion Aqua, Furn, £14 (filled)
You can never have too many cushions. Whether it’s something to cuddle up to when your dream lover has failed to materialise, or you just fancy adding that little extra dose of comfort to your day lounging in the sun, these cushions from Furn are a quick, cheap and easy way to add a touch of Love Island style to your home and garden.
Coming in a variety of colours, including the vibrant pink and blue we’ve come to fall in love with on screen, these cushions are available as covers, or ready filled depending on your needs.
Outdoor Daybed
EVRE Bali Outdoor Outdoor Garden Furniture Set With Canopy, Amazon, £399
The most expensive item on our list, but easily one of the most covetable, this daybed from EVRE on Amazon channels all of the style and sophistication of the villa’s very own circular daybed.
Whether you fancy cuddling up to your beau on it, or lamenting their questionable choices with your bestie, this daybed has got you covered for whatever your Summer romance decides to throw at you.
Pop Art Prints
Pop Art Lip Poster, IcandiArt, £11.99
Another new addition to the villa this year has been the stunning pop art prints that now hang above the beds and add a little more character to otherwise drab walls. While there’s no shortage of pop art out there, we particularly like these kitsch lip self adhesive posters from Icandiart.
Sun Loungers
Blue Pool Print Sun Lounger, Asda, £59
No Love Island themed garden would be complete without a sun lounger or two, and while these aren’t quite the padded luxury experienced by contestants in the Mallorcan villa, at £59 for a pack of two, they are a budget friendly alternative that will still allow you to soak up the sunshine.
Decorated with a swimming pool print, the blue and white design even offers a small nod to the dreamy pool our favourite Islanders have been dipping into.
Palm Trees
Artificial Potted Palm Tree for Home Decoration, The Range, £51.99
Let’s face it, not all of us will be lucky enough to jet off this Summer, but one way of bringing the Island charm a little closer to home is through the addition of palm tree plants. Whether you go for the real thing, or artificial, you can still channel some of that beachy energy even here in the UK.
One of our favourite low maintenance choices is this Artificial Potted Palm from The Range. There’s no trimming, no watering, no effort or fuss, just laid back holiday vibes to help imagine you’re in your very own Hideaway.
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
