MCDONALD'S fans can get Monopoly stickers for free by using a little-known trick.

The tip was revealed on social media by a savvy saver and has been viewed hundreds of times.

It comes after McDonald's popular Monopoly game returned earlier this month.

Fast food fans can play until October 18, collecting the game pieces that appear on products like fries and McFlurries.

To win, all customers have to do is peel off the stickers on the side of their food packaging to reveal the prizes.

But TikTok user Chaz Smith, from West Yorkshire, shared a useful money-saving tip to help you get stickers for free.

In one of his recent videos, he revealed that if you ask for a free water you can still get stickers.

The TikTokker showed himself peeling a sticker from his cup to revealthat he had earned two properties – The Angel Islington and Kings Cross Station.

This suggests that the fast food giant will put the free drink into the same cups that they serve their fizzy options.

As tap water is free, customers may not have to fork out to get their hands on the three stickers that are placed on the packaging.

But there are a variety of cups McDonald's uses to give customers free tap water, and not all have the stickers.

So it does depend on what they choose to give you as to whether you get given a cup with a Monopoly sticker.

McDonald's first launched Monopoly in 2005 – 17 years ago.

Like the original, in McDonald's Monopoly you need to collect different locations from around London.

Each sticker you find on an item will correspond to one of them, like Park Lane or Old Kent Road.

Collect the right ones and you can win a prize, plus

Customers can also now double their gameplay with the new "double peel" offering.

For each sticker you peel off a food item in real life, you get a free peel in the McDonald's app, which features a digital game board.

Just scan your sticker and you get another chance to win.

What McDonald's menu items have Monopoly stickers?

You can get three stickers on each of the following food and drink products. And so you'll get three more chance to play in the app too.

• Chicken and bacon salad
• Chicken salad
• Chicken selects (3 or 5 Pieces)
• McPlant burger
• Big Tasty (with or without Bacon)
• Any Big Flavour Wrap
• Chicken Legend (Mayo, BBQ or Spicy)
• Spicy chicken McNuggets (all sizes)
• Fizzy soft drink (medium or large)
• Any McCafé iced drink
• Side salad, veg bag or fruit bag when sold as part of a medium or large meal
• Any drink sold as part of a medium or large meal served after 11am

And there are a further four menu items offering two stickers – and double game play if you scan them.

• Mozzarella dippers
• McFlurry (Mars or Twix flavour)
