Im a stay-at-home girlfriend at 26 – but people tell me to get job

A 'stay-at-home' girlfriend whose life is funded by her partner was brutally told to 'get a job'.

Rose Davis, 26, spends a typical day doing the food shopping, cleaning and cooking a meal for her other half – as well as spot of retail therapy.

The stunning brunette considers herself 'lucky' that she does not have to work for a living and leaves all of the breadwinning to her fiancé Harry.

She has built up more than 30,000 TikTok followers by sharing details of her alternative lifestyle.

Although, not everyone is too keen that Rose does not have a job.

In a recent clip that gained thousands of views, the stay-at-home girlfriend filmed a "typical day" in her life to shed some light about what she gets up to in 24 hours.

"Day in the life of a 26-year-old stay-at-home girlfriend", she said as she rocked a grey crop top and shorts paired with a luxury designer bag.

"So I got up and did some washing up and did my skincare to get ready to run some errands.

"I went to Costa for breakfast and had some porridge and a coffee.

"And then I went to the grocery store and I had to go post something for my mum at the Post Office.

"I went home got changed and went to town."

Rose then browsed the shops, eyeing up pairs of shoes, before she met her sister for a spot of lunch at Wagamama.

She continued: "Then I went back home and folded all of his laundry.

"It might not look like much but it was about four loads of laundry. So I had to wash, dry and fold them all it actually does take a while.

"Then I face timed my parents in New Zealand as it was my step-dad's birthday so I sent him a hamper. I started making mine and Harry's dinner."

The stay-at-home girlfriend made a pie from the Hello Fresh subscription, served it up and then finished her day.

Since going viral on TikTok, many people found issue with Rose's 'role' and questioned why she doesn't have a job.

One person jibed: "Didn't fancy getting a job then?"

Another user wrote: "You can imagine if a guy called himself a stay at home boyfriend.

"All these girls would be telling her to get rid."

While a third trolled: "Why would you not want a job at 26!"

And, a woman urged: "Unless your financially independent please don’t commit to being a housewife/gf unless you are married – I learnt the hard way!"

However, others were supportive of Rose's life – and some were even inspired.

One person said: "Stay at home girlfriend… omg I just found my vocation. Thank you!"

A second defended: "Everyone hating on you is just simply jealous … you do you , sounds like you have a pretty good life."

Another shared: "I’ve worked since I was 14, I’m now 30 and pregnant – my husband has said I don’t have to go back to work and I am ecstatic. Ignore the haters."

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "So many haters. So what if her partner wants to support her."
