Incredible £2.5million mansion with 360° Lake District views will be won by one lucky Brit in charity mega draw | The Sun

A LUCKY Brit is guaranteed to win a superb countryside hideaway in the Lake District worth more than £2.5million – and £100,000 in cash.

The winner of the latest Omaze Million Pound House Draw will get the keys to a beautifully finished five-bedroom farmhouse set in over eight acres of land.

It offers incredible 360-degree panoramic views – just a short drive from Lake Windermere and Ambleside.

The house comes mortgage free with all stamp duty and legal fees covered.

The winner is also given £100,000 cash to help them settle in – and is free to either live in the house, rent it out or sell it.

If the winner decides to rent it out, local estate agents estimate that the property could achieve up to £3,000 a month for long-term rentals and more for holiday letting during peak season.

The characterful, 6,000 sq ft, 18th century property has been masterfully renovated to feature all mod cons and still retain its original features.

The sitting room is set on original Lakeland stone flags, with window seats offering more picturesque views down the South Lakeland Valley.

An atrium style hallway leads into the hub of the home, an open plan, bespoke kitchen that sits on a Cumbrian oak floor leading onto a substantial dining area.

An open fire in the living area adds to the cosy, welcoming feel of the house.

The main bedroom celebrates the surrounding countryside through the triple aspect windows that provide a cascade of natural light.

There is an ensuite bathroom, with twin wash basins, a freestanding tub with shower and accompanying dressing room all providing a sumptuous spa-like feel.

RURAL IDYLL

The rural idyll also boasts a standalone guest suite with vaulted ceilings and its own kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living space.

The plot also offers ample parking, stables and a shed.

There are countless walking opportunities on the doorstep, with footpaths in every direction.

There is an easy 15 minute loop up and over around the bridleway, past the farm and back, soaking up the stunning countryside and Lakeland fell views.

As well as a three-hour walk round route walk over to the Punchbowl at Crosthwaite, or alternatively another lovely round route walk via Staveley – for those who are feeling more adventurous.

For a local pint the winner can easily walk to a choice of pubs with the Brown Horse at Winster, the Black Labrador, the Watermill at Ings or The Wild Boar all within a pleasant 25 minute walk.

CLOSE TO AMENITIES

The house may be secluded but is not far from a range of amenities from post offices, and doctors’ surgeries to the supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and bars of Windermere, Bowness and Kendal.

As well as making its grand prize winner a multi-millionaire – the Lake District House Draw will also support Dogs Trust.

The money raised will help Dogs Trust to care for dogs in need, from those in distress who need special care, to those who need a loving home.

The charity also provides help and guidance from training and behaviour experts to dog-owners who need a helping hand.

Dogs are handed over to Dogs Trust for various reasons, and one of the main causes is because of behaviour-related issues.

The dedicated teams at Dogs Trust Rehoming Centres are committed to give the dogs the care and attention they need. From canine carers, handlers, training and behaviour experts to volunteers, they all play a vital part in getting the dogs back on their paws and finding them their forever homes.

Omaze has guaranteed a minimum donation of £100,000.

HELPING THE DOGS TRUST

The draw is backed by The Wanted star and Dogs Trust ambassador, Nathan Sykes, who recently completed a Greatest Hits tour with the much-loved band.

Nathan said: “The partnership between Dogs Trust and Omaze is fantastic – it's raising vital funds – as well as awareness – for such a wonderful charity – which will help it on its mission to help all our canine companions and their owners enjoy a happy life together.

“Everyone who enters is contributing towards this crucial cause – and of course someone is guaranteed to win their dream home in the Lake District too.”

Owen Sharp, chief executive of Dogs Trust, said: “This is an exciting new partnership for Dogs Trust and we’re very grateful to Omaze and Nathan for their support in all we do for our four-legged friends.

"We truly appreciate the generosity of the public and partners like Omaze, which enables us to carry out the incredible work we do for thousands of dogs each year from rehoming to rehabilitation.

“This prize draw is an amazing opportunity for the public to support our work and change the lives of many dogs, whilst being in with the chance of also winning a life-changing prize themselves.

"Those who enter may be lucky to win a new home, but also are guaranteed to have helped many dogs win their forever homes.”

James Oakes at Omaze said: “We’re honoured to be partnering with Dogs Trust for our brand new Lake District House Draw.

"By offering this incredible farmhouse, with £100,000 in cash, we’re not only giving people the chance to live mortgage and rent free for the rest of their life – but also raising money and introducing charities to brand new audiences.

“We’re incredibly proud that the Omaze community has already raised £7,500,000 for UK charities since we launched in 2020.”

Draw entries for the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Lake District are available now.

The draw closes on December 26, 2022 for online entries and January 3, 2023 for postal entries.
