Is Hwang Hee-chan a flash in the pan or a genuine Dream Team bargain?

WOLVES have given Dream Team managers plenty to think about already this season.

Adama Traore (£2.7m) burst out the blocks with a flurry of Star Man awards to become the standout bargain midfielder for a fleeting moment.

Raul Jimenez (£3.6m) has teased onlookers with promising displays undercut by wasteful finishing for the most part.

And a favourable run of fixtures made the likes of Max Kilman (£1.9m) and Romain Saiss (£2.8m) potentially viable options for a while – the latter is currently just two points off breaking into the top 15 defenders.

It’s rare that a bottom-half club gives Dream Team bosses so much to mull over in such a short of space of time.

And it turns out Bruno Lage’s side are not done yet, thanks to the exploits of Hwang Hee-chan (£2.1m).

The South Korea forward scored a brace against Newcastle the weekend before last to bag the biggest points haul (18) of Game Week 7.

Such returns can’t be ignored.

The 25-year-old, who is on loan from RB Leipzig, scored against Watford after coming off the bench back in September.

Total it up and he’s scored three goals in 250 minutes of Premier League action this season.

Given Wolves’ problems converting possession and chances into goals, a player in Hwang’s form surely has to keep his place in the starting line-up?

He passes the eye test as well as the stats check too.

He looked very lively in both substitute cameos before earning his place in the starting XI, catching the eye with some neat tricks and excellent decision-making in the final third.

With 29 points in total, Hwang is now above Mason Greenwood (£3.6m) and Danny Ings (£3.4m) in the rankings and with a a virtually non-existent ownership of 0.4%.

At £2.1m he’s extremely affordable and could well be a key differential in the coming weeks.

If you’re struggling to balance your XI with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo (£7.6m), Mohamed Salah (£7.3m) breaking the bank, Hwang could well be your missing piece… assuming he’s not just a flash in the pan.
