Jennifer Lawrence Makes $5 Million Less Than Leo Caprio In Their New Movie Dont Look Up

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lawrence shared her thought about the salary difference between her and co-star DiCaprio. She thinks that it is only fair that DiCaprio will receive a higher salary considering he’s been in the industry longer than her, and he brings in more box office. Despite being number one on the call sheet, she’s fine with the salary difference; however, she stated that she fought for the top billing. She made sure that she got the top spot in the credits, and DiCaprio was cool with everything to not challenge her demand. She stated that she learned about the pay difference through the media as well, telling the reporters that she did see that too when asked about the news regarding the differing salaries.

The actress is known to be outspoken in terms of pay discrepancy in Hollywood, and she’s not really afraid of demanding the salary for what she’s worth. However, in this instance, she is extremely happy and fortunate with the deal she got considering she also got to work with DiCaprio. She added that it is awkward and very uncomfortable to ask about equal pay, so she tries not to be bothered by it at all. She said that if someone inquires about pay disparity, the producers will tell you that gender has nothing to do with it, but once you ask about what exactly made the pay difference, they would not tell you what exactly the reason is.
