Stormy Daniels is not the only woman hush money payments were made to on Donald Trump’s behalf, according to background documents presented in the indictment of the former president.
Trump has pled not guilty to all charges against him in the current indictment which focuses solely on payments made to Daniels. But, another woman “Woman 1” was also paid, and it is suggested this woman is Karen McDougal.
Karen McDougal is a former-Playboy model who claims she had a nine-month-long affair with Donald Trump before his presidency, which the former president denies.
McDougal claims she met Trump at the Playboy Mansion in LA in 2006, during the recording of an episode of The Apprentice.
She said Trump “immediately took a liking to (her), kept talking to (her) – telling (her) how beautiful (she) was, etc”.
She told CNN she had a loving and consensual relationship with Trump, and saw each other “a minimum of five times a month.”
McDougal claimed she was tricked into silence by the National Enquirer, in a case the US Federal Election Commission found violated election laws, when the paper offered her a deal worth $150,000 (£106,000) to tell her story exclusively ahead of the elections.
However, the piece was never published, and the deal was dubbed a bid to silence McDougal the FEC found the payment to McDougal amounted to an illegal campaign contribution.
Donald Trump has always denied the affair, for which McDougal issued an apology to Melania in 2018.
McDougal said: “I’m sorry. I wouldn’t want it done to me.”
“When I look back, at where I was back then, I know it’s wrong. I’m really sorry for that. I know it’s a wrong thing to do.”

Who is Karen McDougal?
McDougal is best known for her work for Playboy. She was Playmate of the Month for December 1997 and Playmate of the Year of 1998.
She was voted a runner-up for “The Sexiest Playmate of the 1990s” by Playboy’s readers.
Born in 1971 in Gary, Indiana, she was a tap and ballet dancer as a child, and was a cheerleader and Michigan state champion clarinet in high school, where she was nicknamed “Barbie”.
She planned to open a learning center for children but instead turned to modelling with her first gig being at a Harley-Davidson bike show in Detroit.
In 2019 she filed a defamation against Fox News, claiming anchor Tucker Carlson defamed her by saying she personally extorted Trump.
Manhattan U.S. District Court Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, appointed by Trump, dismissed the suit and said: “The statements are rhetorical hyperbole and opinion commentary intended to frame a political debate, and, as such, are not actionable as defamation.”
