LIDL's sell-out winter gadget is back just in time to save you from costly energy bills.

The supermarket has brought back its popular heated-airer and the best news is it costs just 6p to run.

The weather has certainly turned in the last week and many people will have given in and put the heating on.

As well as heating and lighting the home, drying clothes can be another drain on your cash this time of year.

For many putting the tumble dryer on just isn't an option, and for larger households with a lot of laundry, the only other option is having it strewn around the house with the heating on full blast.

However, Lidl has launched a nifty household gadget that could help you get your washing dry quicker and save you money at the same time.

The Minky 12M heated airer holds 16k of washing which equates to one full load and is available in Lidl now for £44.99.

This might seem like a costly outlay at first, but the airer costs just 6p to run, which is much cheaper than a tumble dryer, and putting the heating on.

According to Uswitch a tumble dryer using a 2.5kWh per cycle would be 68p per cycle.

The item comes with a one year warranty and can fold away for easy storage and can be viewed on the Lidl website.

Other ways you can keep your energy bills down

If you are worried about soaring bills this winter there are a few things you can do straight away that don't involve spending money.

Remembering to turn off any radiators in rooms that you don't use is a good idea if you want to cut down on your bills.

If you don't want to turn them completely off you can just turn them down as every little helps.

When you put your heating on always make sure you close the curtains to stop precious heat escaping out of the window.

Also, be sure to check if you have left any windows open, particularly in the bathroom.

Many people leave the bathroom window open as a matter of course, but unless you have just showered there is really no need.

You can also buy draught-proofing tape to put around the gaps in your doors and windows.

It is relatively cheap to buy and costs around £5 a roll on Amazon.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, this could save you around £45 a year on your energy bills.

It might seem small but just turning your thermostat down by just one degree can be another easy way to save £100 a year.

You could also invest in a heated blanket or throw which like the clothes airer can run from as little as 2p an hour.
