Locals baffled by invisible house as they realise huge mirror is actually home

A house has just gone viral on social media – as it's left many people baffled.

The property in Richmond, south-west London, features huge reflective panels.

Local residents often check their reflection on London's Invisible House.

Now since it's been shared on Reddit, people don't know what to think of it.

One said: "Trying to work out if I can take selfies in this or if the owners inside can see me doing it."

Another added: "I've lived in the borough for about 10 years and have driven past it more times than I could count.

"And I have honestly never noticed it."

The person continued: "Does anyone know anything about it? Is it residential or commercial?

"I've tried Googling it and can't find any info about it."

Other Reddit users claimed the home "must be a right pain to keep clean" as it would be attracting a lot of birds.

Meanwhile, people called the unique design an "eyesore", while some said the home was "so quirky".

The mirrored home is located on the busy A316 road by the Richmond Circus roundabout, near Richmond Underground station.

A family, who wish to remain anonymous, live in the property full-time.

The household did however confirm to MyLondon that it features one-way mirrors so passers-by can't see into the property.

But with its quirky design, the residents can still look outside.

They said: "Our designer Alex Haw came up with the idea of the mirror. The mirror would make the house 'talk with its environment'.

"You can see the trees on the roundabout and the clouds reflecting onto the house.

"We really liked the idea and ran with it."
