Amy appears very pleased with the hairstyle, revealing, “It’s still curly now.”

And the star wasn’t wrong about the long-lasting results. Just yesterday Amy jumped on her Instagram account before heading out to the shops – and her waves looked very much still intact.

If you’re hoping to copy Amy’s mermaid waves in lockdown, the star’s hair stylist Jessica Katherine shared a snap of the finished look to her Instagram account. When asked by a fan which tool she used to achieve the flawless style, she replied, “For this look I used a 3 barrel hair waver.”

To achieve a similar effect, we recommend trying Beauty Works’ Waver, £69.99 here, which describes itself as “a three barrel hair waver that creates mermaid-inspired waves”.

The clever hair tool uses ceramic-coated barrels which seals the cuticle to prevent frizz, giving you a shiny, glossy finish.

The mermaid wave is a great style for lockdown because the beachy waves last for days – just like Amy says.
