A new documentary has explored the lives of male escorts operating in the UK, with one 21-year-old man admitting that he normally engages in unprotected sex with his clients.
The new Channel 4 documentary called Men for Sale – Life of a Male Escort looks at the lives of three male escorts offering different services and is presented by Benjamin Zand.
A 21-year-old man from Durham, going by the name Tom in order to protect his identity, works a nine to five job in the service industry and has recently started escorting on the side, despite the fact his family would disown him if they found out.
He told Benjamin: ‘I like sex, it’s exciting, risky’, adding that he advertised himself on an escort site and got 25 messages from people who wanted to meet with him.
Many of the women he has sex with bring their husbands along to watch, and he admitted it’s ‘very dangerous’ because he often has unprotected sex without asking for proof the people paying him are free from STIs.

He says the clientele are mainly 30-to-40-year-old women and he offers anything from a simple companionship to actual sex.
‘A lot of them are cuckold meets, which are where the husband or whoever the partner watches the wife get pretty much f***ed,’ Tom explained.
He said that he would charge £15 an hour for his services which he described as ‘a bit low.’
When Benjamin asks Tom if he wore protection, he responded: ‘I can do but I also offer bareback, which is unprotected sex. Most people opt for unprotected.
‘To be honest I am actually playing myself there a bit because obviously they don’t give us any proof of STD results or anything like that.
‘It’s very dangerous.’
Later on in the documentary, Benjamin caught up with Tom again and his sister had since found out about his escorting side hustle from one of his friends.
Tom has mainly unprotected sex with his clients and revealed one has even requested for him to get her pregnant
He said that if his family found out about his secret job, then they would ‘100 per cent disown him.’
He showed the presenter his message chain with his sister. Tom asked her ‘would you disown me?’ To which she responded and said: ‘Yeah, I’d disown you. It’s not a good look. It’s the same as me being a prostitute.’
She continued and wrote: ‘Everyone will talk about you and think it’s disgusting,’ which echoes the taboo around sex work.
Tom said he felt ‘a bit sad’ when his sister said that because he ‘doesn’t think it’s disgusting.’
Later on in the programme, Tom also revealed that he was trying something he had never done before, having sex with a woman to make a baby.
‘So this lady I’m meeting is someone who contacted us to try a pregnancy,’ he said.
He had never met this woman before, nor spoken to her on the phone, meaning the first time they will meet, he will be trying to impregnate her.
When asked if he was getting paid for this service, Tom said: ‘Not at all no. No payment, just paying for petrol.’
Danny is a male escort who also makes ‘gay for pay’ content and has been in the industry for ten years
The roofer charges £!50 for guys to meet him and heir activities would range from getting a beer or a drink to going shopping together
Tom said he was ‘100 per cent’ looking forward to it and said he ‘actually can’t wait.’
When asked what his mother’s reaction would be to having a baby with a stranger, he said: ‘She’d probably be like “what the f**k are you doing with your life?”.’
The documentary also looked at other services that men provide which ranged from sensual massages with the option to have sex.

He turned to the escorting because he initially needed money and holds a job as a roofer.
When asked to define ‘gay for pay,’ Danny said; ‘It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing something gay.
‘I guess it’s like someone gay is paying you.
‘One guy was saying how he sees straight guys and wants to be their friend, wants to be in their company, wants to give me £20 to go and get a beer or put another bet on.’
Guys usually pay Danny around £150 to meet him and their activities would range from getting a beer or a drink to going shopping together.
He says he has tried having sexual encounters with his clients but it ‘doesn’t really work’ for him’ as he ‘couldn’t perform.’
‘I’m happy to get blown because I just close my eyes and go to my happy place,’ Danny said.
Rubens, from Brazil but now lives in London, advertises himself as a sensual masseur and a companion who works with female clients only
He also added that he’s had people assume that he must be gay, but Danny says he is not, but has been in gay ‘situations.’
He also makes personal content for clients and this particular person has asked for a ‘humiliating’ clip of Danny hurling abuse at the camera and treating it as though it is that person.
‘I just hurl a bit of abuse slowly at the camera, get them to like suck my sock or something and then I might say “Don’t be a f****t and not do it.
‘It gets them going they say “oh I love the way you say that word”.’
Rubens, from Brazil but now lives in London, advertises himself as a sensual masseur and a companion who works with female clients only.
He can early up to £450 per hour and if you want to have sex with him, Rubens charges an £200 on top.
Jess, who is hiding her identity, paid Rubens for a massage because she wants to explore her sensuality in a ‘safe space’ with a ‘professional’
He said: ‘Sometimes they go for the option of having a vulva massage as well. During the massage I will massage your clitoris, I’ll massage your vagina, internally, externally.’
Rubens says he sees how much it benefits both women and couples who continue to come back to him for his services which help ‘improve their sex life’ or just their ‘life in general.’
He says he avoids calling himself an escort because of the negative connotations towards the term.
He also offers the ‘boyfriend experience’ which is where clients pay him for his company. They may go out to dinner or go travelling – similar to what couples experience together.
Jess, whose identity is protected, is one of Ruben’s appointments and when asked why she booked in a massage, she said: ‘So many women are shy or feel ashamed about their own sensuality and their own desires.
‘And to experience that in a safe space with a professional is something really amazing.
‘This experience is very different to what our perception of sex work is.
Benjamin also met Louise who runs The Prince Experience, which is an agency that sells non-sexual companionship services for ‘high-flying women’
‘It’s quite difficult for women to pay for sex and turn up at someone’s flat and just engage because we need a little more connection.’
Benjamin also met Louise who runs The Prince Experience, which is an agency that sells non-sexual companionship services for ‘high-flying women.’
‘They’re women that if you looked at them you would think “would I expect this from this woman?”
‘Very good looking, great job, but we have all types of women.
‘Women can get sex anywhere, any time. They can. When they come here they want something very different.’
Louise says men are always applying and the clients are ‘building and building.’
She also reveals that many women are looking for companions that are over six foot in height.
