McDonald’s is selling triple cheeseburgers in 60 outlets in the UK

McDonald’s is trialling an exciting new menu item.

The fast food giant is seeing how well triple cheeseburgers are received in 60 of its restaurants.

Each burger has three 100% beef patties in, along with three slices of cheese.

It’s then topped with onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup, before being encased in a soft bun.

This news is bound to excite Maccy D’s fans – as it hasn’t been on the menu since 1994.

Back then, the triple burger was known as the Hat Trick and was sold as part of a World Cup promotion.

What’s the difference between a McDonald’s double cheeseburger and the triple version?

Both burgers contain the same fillings.

The only difference is the extra patty – which alters the calorie content and price.

While the double cheeseburger is 445 calories, the triple version is 520.

Meanwhile, the smaller burger retails at £1.59.

This is 80p cheaper than the £2.39 triple burger.

So where can you taste the triple cheeseburgers?
