Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s documentary featured plenty of their close friends – and her family – but there was one face noticeably absent from the line-up of inner circle pals: the Duchess’s once-close friend Jessica Mulroney.
However, the stylist, whose friendship with Meghan is said to have hit the rocks after Jessica became embroiled in a racism row with a black influencer, did make a rather surprising appearance in the bombshell show, with the Duchess of Sussex seemingly revealing that she phoned her former pal while Harry was preparing to propose.
Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, shared several very intimate glimpses inside their romance during the show – among which was a never-before-seen look at the moment that the Duke popped the question… and the call his soon-to-be-fiancee made to her then-closest confidante Jess revealing what he was preparing to do.
After recounting the moments leading up to the proposal, which took place at the couple’s home in Kensington Palace after they had ‘roasted a chicken together’, Harry and Meghan then shared footage taken by the latter as her partner prepared for the special moment.
The clip featured Meghan’s voice on the phone to her friend ‘Jess’ – believed to be Jessica Mulroney, 42 – telling her: ‘It’s happening!’

Meghan and Jessica were inseparable from the moment they met on the set of TV show Suits, however, reports from recent years have speculated their friendship may be on the rocks.
From helping her choose her dress to coordinating plans, Jessica was a key player at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding, and both her sons and daughter were even involved in the celebration.
The day of the royal wedding Jessica shared snaps captioned: ‘Proud friend. Proud mom.’
Later, a palace insider even suggested to the Mail on Sunday that Meghan frequently confided in the stylist as her and Harry began to solidify their plans to step down as royals.

Following the announcement Harry and Meghan were leaving the Royal Family, Jessica said: ‘A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink.’
And while the pals were once as close as could be, it appeared as though they became distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding ‘white privilege’ while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matters movement.
Although Jessica denied being a racist, Sasha, claimed the stylist left her ‘paralyzed with fear’.
Following the blogger’s claims, Jessica issued three public apologies, however she still faced consequences and was dropped by numerous television networks.
DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that ABC severed ties with her, confirming that Jessica would not be returning to her occasional role as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America.
Canadian TV network CTV also cut off ties with the stylist, revealing that it would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality TV show I Do Redo from its platform.
Rocky waters for Jessica continued as she was then accused of using Meghan as her ‘superpower,’ however, she denied there was any truth to this and refused to talk about the Duchess during interviews.
